Kyron Cartwright Commits to PC

Tuesday, April 08, 2014

Just minutes after UConn put the finishing touches on the 2014 NCAA Tournament, Providence College received great news in the form of a verbal commitment from Class of 2014 Point Guard Kyron Cartwright.

The 5’10” 165-pound Cartwright is a speedster with a developing offensive game.  He is a better playmaker than an overall scorer, but with his quicks and improving shooting touch, he has a high ceiling as a player.

Coming out of Compton High school, Cartwright was originally intending on playing at nearby Loyola Marymount, but was released from his letter of intent after Max Good was fired as head coach.

After opening his recruitment up again, Cartwright was easily one of the top unsigned Guards in the nation, earning 3-star distinction from major recruiting sites.

UConn showed this postseason that there's nothing more important than steady Guard play in March.  With Bryce Cotton graduating and Kris Dunn battling back from a serious shoulder injury, PC needed a Point Guard before the spring signing period ended.

Monday night, they got him.
